The Phantom of the Opera Musical Program - The Ahmanson Theatre Los Angeles - Published in 1989 by Dewynters - Softcover (9" x 12") - 28 pages (with numerous color and black and white photos, including a fabulous full-page color painting of the Phantom, and a six-page black & white tri-fold caste and crew insert for the Los Angeles Premiere Starring Michael Crawford on May 31, 1989) - Very good condition. This program includies the usual great photos of the actors and the production, a story about Gaston Leroux (who wrote the original novel), and much, much more. It's a virtual certainty that when leroux published The Phantom of the Opera in 1911 that he never imagined it would become a wildly successful Broadway musical. He probably never even heard of Broadway. The musical was made into a major motion picture and the legend continues. There is some general wear to the covers, including some spine stress (see the scan) but this program is still in very good condition. No collection of theater programs items is complete without this one.
